At this time, we are focusing our CLINE research only in the NC-TN-GA tri-state area; but have included adjacent states to help with migrations before the Civil War. We have reviewed the actual images at ancestry.com for each of our listings. Although we are very familiar with old handwriting, there will most always be something that cannot be read with certainty. We have noted these and included which ways they could be deciphered.
We have also tried to show spelling on the census image vs. spelling used in index to explain why some ancestors may have been difficult to locate.
